Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,
I don’t get much time to publish posts and bought very few names and those I forgot to park them at DNS due to which I didn’t increase the number of domains in total parked domains section below.
Total visitors – 115,000+ (15k decrease from the previous month).
Total clicks – 3,900+ (500 less clicks).
Total parked domains – 800 (No increment).
Total revenue – $630 (slight decrease compare to October).
Top 5 niche which made the most – Games, Cooking, Health, Photography, VPN service.
$$ made on a single day – $30
RPM – $6.50 ($.5 increase in overall RPM).
CTR – 4.35% (More drop in this one).
I saw drop in visitors, clicks and CTR but most important thing was the consistency of revenue which remained almost the same. There was improvement in RPM. Although clicks were quite low compare to previous month but revenue was stable because of RPM which seems to be improving since last two months.
I sold a domain last month for $3,728. Quite awkward looking amount but actually the buyer offered 3k Euro which at that time of conversion made what it actually sold for.
Initially the buyer contacted back in March this year with starting offer of $150. Looking at the final price I always recommend to communicate and negotiate to get the maximum and see what the buyer has to offer. Had I rejected him badly, the deal would not have happened ever with this buyer. Never underestimate the starting offer because many times buyer is unaware of the market but has the budget for what you are asking. In some cases we need to educate them.
After not receiving any positive response from the buyer, the inquiry was automatically forwarded to one of the broker at DNS and he did his best to get some sort of response but at the end nothing went in our way…
Last month this lead was re-assigned to another broker of DNS and suddenly the buyer responded back and negotiation started from there on and the deal was completed swiftly. His next offer was 1k and than 3k USD before ending up at 3k EUR. All in all, it took 8 months to complete this sale. By the way, the domain name in question is Scherpe.com
Thanks to Mohammed Khan and Sean Landreth who helped in closing this deal as well as Helki Weber (transfer specialist). She was really great in handling the transfer process and make things look really easier and helps the buyer at every stage where he needs anything. They all are too quick in what they do. I must not forget to thank Escrow.com from where the deal was actually completed. The sale was listed in DnJournal recently.
Before the transaction was initiated at Escrow.com, I had talked with Frank Pavilonis at Uniregistry for having all those funds credited in my Uniregistry account which will help me in transferring domains to their registrar. After which I did and now most of my domains are transferred to Uniregistry and I am very happy to be with them.
What has been your parking revenue for November 2014? Made any sale recently which you would like to share?
Hello Abdul, thanks for sharing your parking stats and the story reg. your latest domain sale with us.. the buyer was probably Scherpe.de (Scherpe is a typical german last name), a german print provider who wanted to go more global.. as i am Austrian/German and living here i can tell you that similar cases happen to me constantly with endusers in these 2 countries here.. most of them are uneducated about the domain business, but clearly capable of paying € in the x,xxx range for any decent domain such as yours once they understand.. it pays off to educate them… Read more »
Thanks Daniel for your feedback and info. Appreciate that 🙂
FYI, the email buyer used was @scherpe.eu so he owns both .de and .eu
I stand corrected after visiting Scherpe.com.. it was another german company instead of Scherpe.de.. nevermind, the point made above remains..
Congrats once again. Closing your year book of 2014 in a cheerful manner.
Thanks Sameeruddin. Yeah, 2014 has been going great so far, ALHUMDULLILAH 🙂
I hope you are having better year than before 🙂
Assalamu Alaykum Abdul Basit
Please correct the spelling Alhamdulillah is the right one
WaAlaikum Salaam
Never mind anonymous as we must not waste our time in going after the spelling and should understand the real meaning behind the word and follow in the right direction.
We can start off long debate on spelling whether you wrote the correct spelling of “Assalamu Alaykum” or the one I wrote “Assalamo Alaikum”. That doesn’t make much difference unless the meaning remains same and our purpose of using that word is same 🙂
Last week itself I learned about the sale of Scherpe and was waiting for your post – congrats on sale as well as on maintaining Parking revenue. Since you’ve transferred all your domains to uniregistry is there a 60 day lock on domains.
Thanks Tauseef 🙂
The 60 day lock period is a rule for all registrars but I know one thing is when I transferred some of the domains to Uniregistry and one of them was sold within the 60 days period of transferring, the buyer wanted the domain out to some other registrar and someone from Uniregistry removed that lock and it was transferred out with no issues.
I have found everyone at Uniregistry very cooperative and friendly. You must give it a try…
Good luck though 🙂
Can you please put some light on methods of payment DNS is offering ? As paypal is not accepted in Pakistan, how do you get paid and what are the other methods you can recommend that are easy, fast and secure ?
Thanks alot in advance.
They offer wire transfer and charge you nominal fee of $20-25 but the minimum payout is $100.
DNS send out payment on the last date of every month and never delayed. Right on time with no issues. I have selected wire transfer for myself.
Once logged into DNS, simply visit https://domainnamesales.com/sales/settings#tab=payments and use the “Contact Us” link to send your bank detail in order to receive money through wire.
Thanks.
Do you also use wire transfer for your smaller and some of the biggest domain sales ?
All payments are received through wire because that’s the best option to accept in Pakistan. By the way, smaller sales this year has been of 1k and I don’t consider any offer as serious below 1k.
Can you please tell me that which parking service you use and how to increase ctr.
I use DomainNameSales.com to park domain. Make sure to categorize the domain according to the relevance for improvement of CTR.
