Hello everyone,
Last month was a very special and recording breaking month in terms of number of sales. Although I keep adding new domains every month which should boost the number of sales but that normally doesn’t happen. I think this was a one-off month and I would love to have such sales every month on a regular basis. I’m working hard on making this happen with more consistency and this can be achieved with a slightly larger portfolio size (currently 9,390) and similar quality of domains.
Coming back to the sales, I’m excited to share it with my fellow friends and followers:
HealthIndustries.com – This was the first sale of the month and it sold for $5,888 via BIN. Acquired it via DropCatch in 2019.
PurpleTv.com – Another BIN sale for $3,988. Hold time around 3 years.
Ahorn.net – It’s always a nice feeling to sell .net domains and they do sell but at a slower pace than .com. This was a BIN sale for $1,988 and hold time was 5 years.
SonaHealth.com – “Health” keyword domains are a good investment but one has to make sure to buy with the right combination. This one sold for $4,888 via BIN. Hold time 4 years.
Twinery.com – This was sold for $1,988. I think the buyer got a great deal here. This can be used as a one word brand or t+Winery. Hold time around 3 years.
Symbook.com – Another $1,988 BIN sale and the hold time was 4 years.
Igiro.com – This domain was having a BIN of $4,888 but eventually I accepted $3,000 after going back and forth with the buyer. Salute to the broker who was very patient and cracked the deal smoothly. The deal took more than a month of follow-ups and calls to get this done.
ACR.CO – The highest amount of sales last month at $9,888 and surprisingly that came in via .CO sale. I love to invest in .CO domains. This was acquired in a small bulk deal 4 years back.
RemarkSolutions.com – Another BIN sale for $1,988 with hold time of 1 year only. Such wonderful two word domains are a good investment and “solutions” is a great keyword to look after.
CountLine.com – Around 3 years hold time and this was sold for $2,988.
ECO5.com – This domain was acquired via NameJet in 2019. This was sold for $8,000 after a tricky negotiation happened behind the scenes for which I appreciate the great skills of the broker who made the deal happen smoothly.
AvantiSolutions.com – Another BIN sale for $4,888 with a hold time of 4 years. Didn’t I say just now that the “solutions” keyword is great for investment 😉 But make sure the combination make senses to you as well as for the buyer.
Monte.CO – 6 years hold time which is a long time period considering high renewal fee. But I love .CO domains and they do sell well if you buy the right domains. The initial offer was $1,500 but I remained firm on the BIN of $3,988 and credit to the broker who was able to convince the buyer to hit the BIN.
FromFearToFreedom.com – It’s a four word domain and one should never worry about too many character containing or 3-4 word domains. As long as it’s making sense, you may buy it. Acquired it in $xx and sold it for $1,988 via BIN.
Legarda.com – Another equally highest amount of sale for $9,888 like ACR.CO last month. This was another BIN sale. Hold time 4 years. This is a popular person name and a lot of companies are using this term as their brand name.
NewWineSkin.com – A great sale for a three word domain for $5,888 via BIN. Hold time around 1 year.
RsBrands.com – Another BIN sale for $1,988. You’ll notice that I’ve sold several LL+keyword domains. One should note that LL has to be western premium letters and the word should be a strong keyword.
SurrenderedLife.com – Along with many other BIN sales, this one was sold for $2,988. A GoDaddy closeout purchase a couple of years ago.
Value-Group.com – Finally a hyphenated sale. The initial offer was $1,407 but I remained firm at BIN of $1,988 and eventually it sold without making any compromise on the price. “Group” keyword domains can be a good investment if you choose it wisely.
Cetindag.com – A person’s name sold for $1,988 BIN. Hold time 2 years and this was acquired via GoDaddy closeouts.
ZoomMortgage.com – This domain had a BIN of $9,888 but after the negotiations, the broker was able to convince the buyer to pull the trigger at $7,444 which was their highest offer after the initial offer of $6,000. Hold time 3 years.
Essentico.com – One word brandable domain. They’re always good to invest in but are getting costlier as the time goes by. Hold time around 2 years. This was another BIN sale for $3,988.
There were a total of 22 sales and 8 of them sold for $1,988 each. The main reason I believe is that 31% of my portfolio is priced at $1,988.
The number of inquiries for April was slightly above 1,400 which is less than both the previous months of February and March. The total number of domains at the end of April 2024 were 9,390.
6 were partner registrar sales.
11 sales via GoDaddy search path.
5 sales via Afternic lander.
Total acquisition + holding costs was around $5,000 and the total amount of sales was $93,616.
I wanted to thank my Afternic rep Adam Ramsdell and the brokers who were involved in making the deals smoothly and professionally.
Also, I wanted to record a protest for myself and behalf of many fellow domainers who’re facing the same issue at Afternic which is the very late payouts. Sometimes it take several weeks! Kindly sort out this issue which is ongoing and no one bothers to fix it until now.
I wish everyone a great month ahead and have a lot of sales. Feel free to share your sales and give your feedback on mine if you like to. It doesn’t matter how good or good the feedback is 😉
thank you for sharing AbdulBasit i wish you the best may I ask how many domain names do you hold right now and what is your average holding time?
Thank you Yassine!
If you’ll read my post again, it clearly states “currently 9,390” so that’s the number of domains as of now.
I never count average holding time but it’s surely in years.
thank you i scanned it with my eyes while multi-tasking hhhh
Awesome sales Basit bhai
Thank you Muneer bhai! 🙂
As I always say you are great Abdul Bhai…keep sharing it…you are doing great work…
Thanks Wajid brother for your feedback which is appreciated 🙂
Congratulations brother, thank you for sharing. This is very detailed and helpful.
Thank you so much Efemena for your feedback. I’m glad you liked it 🙂
Congratulations ????????????
Great world Abdulbasit
Thanks Hicham brother 🙂
I am more interested in the mentality of those buyers….
Buyers–if you bought the domains, please tell us why you bought the domains and are the prices you paid for a fair value?
How did you find the domains?
Late payouts.. sometimes they give several different dates when payout was made. Even then, could be a week or two before it’s received. They obv were not sent when they claim. Frustrating.
Congrats on the sales
Thank you!
Totally agree with you on your payout experience.
Congratulations ABM, another stelllar month .It’s been quiet so far as afternic brokers couldn’t close severao deals and get buyers to honor payments
.But one good sale can cover the month,so I am all good but cashflow can be an issue.
Thank you for your sales it helps to put me in a positive mindset .
Hoping for a great sale this May.
Thanks for your kind words and well wishes! I wish you all the best and there are several offers which I’ve accepted but most of them haven’t converted yet (especially the 5 fig ones).
Congrats! brother, some nice sales there, and as always Thank you for sharing
Thank you as always for commenting and your feedback 🙂
Congratulations Abdulbasit on the sales and thanks for sharing with us. Please consider me if you have domains you’re not renewing and would want to give away.
Thank you Francis!
I rarely drop a single domain in a year so no chance 😉
Do you buy very good unregistered brandable domains with lot of existing endusers on open corporates?
I don’t have money yet to register the domains as my country is poor. So i will like to sell some. It took me 3 months of intensive research to develop a portfolio of unregistered good domains left in the world
Within last 2 months, I have lost 4 out. of it to newly registered by endusers.
I rarely hand register any domains. You may email me via contact page and we shall discuss further.
Thanks!
Congrats. What are your thoughts on Afternic lease to own ? Do you use ?
Thanks Linus! 🙂
I don’t use Afternic LTO.
The main reason is buyers can misuse it for multiple reasons.
1) Someone buy my domain and then start doing outbound and if it doesn’t sell, the next month they don’t pay.
2) Same thing is done as mentioned in the reason number 1 and then someone files UDRP so I’ll get caught in this.
I’ll try their LTO if and when they’ll implement upfront/down-payment option to be charged to the buyer. Something like 20% down-payment right at the time of LTO.
Agree with with point 2.
On #1, I have seen this (buyer dropping out after 1-2 installments) couple of times. I’m still wondering if this is good or bad. Most often we’re able to recoup the original investment in the domain with 1-2 installments + the domain is back with us.
And I’ve often observed that outbounds convert after several months, and someone’s doing it for free to help us sell later.
I understand what you’re trying to say but to be frank, I’m not interested in such thing where the buyer defaults and I get my domain back with some bonus $$$. I’m more happy with smooth deals where buyer ends up paying all the instalments and get the domain. But in order to make sure all this happens smoothly, I would want to have down-payment/upfront money to be charged like 20% from the buyer.
Hmm 🙂
Hi
For the Godaddy broker transactions, what was the longest time from start to finish?
Any different from Afteric brokers?
Usually GoDaddy brokers have 30 days of negotiation time with the seller so they usually wrap up quickly because they’re already provided with the budget from the buyer along with the fee of $69.99. Buyer in this case are considered a little more serious than the ones which come via Afternic. But frankly speaking, I hardly had a good experience working with any GoDaddy broker.
Whereas Afternic brokers operate in a different way where they’re unsure if buyer would even want to buy it or not. But they work for the seller’s side and I really like working with them.
Does your broker tell you how the domains sold (lander vs network)? Or are you deciphering that another way
I receive monthly lead report from my Afternic rep which has a good data including where the domains sold. That’s how I was able to give the breakdown of the sales for the last month:
6 were partner registrar sales.
11 sales via GoDaddy search path.
5 sales via Afternic lander.
Mashaa Allah Barak Allah , I wanted to know from your practice, when you decide to drop a domain that you been holding for few years, is there any factors you set for that?
Thanks Ihab!
If that term becomes obsolete or in no demand. Take an example of Ringtone.com – at one stage, it was one of the demanding domain but not anymore.
Congratulations Abdul on an amazing month of sales. I hope you are doing well.
Thank you so much Rod!
All is well and I hope the same for you too. It’s been a long time since commented. Nice to have a feedback from you brother 🙂
Solid month Abdulbhai, and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your feedback Nikhil bhai 🙂
Hello and congrats! Any domains pricing advice ? I am not sure how to price them, I have many but I price at 287 only to get sales. I will give for example only 2, I beleive their strong but I m afraid their value is much higher:
CookingForBusyPeople . com
DiningSetup . com
Any advice would be mush apreciated
Thanks Morjane!

Congratulation!!
Thanks Sarfraz bhai 🙂
So inspiring, love from India.
Thank you so much Rahul brother 🙂
Hi abdulbasit, between Dan and afternic lander.. which is the best? Will advise I use buy now or make offer
Hi Austin!
I’ve never tried Dan lander so cannot give you exact feedback. But I would suggest to use “price request” lander and “make offer” is the worst option IMO.
Thank you very much for your reply… one more question, I plan on sending outbound for my brandable and emd names, I currently use free email address (gmail) is advisable I continue with Gmail or get a professional email for a high success rate? Thank you again.
Thanks Austin!
I strongly suggest to use your own domain name for email address like I’m using example @ AbdulBasit.com for all the email communications which is more authoritative and professional.
Thank you
Hi abdulbasit, please i need help from you… please how much do you think i should price this domain names, i dont want to over/under price it. BookingWebsite.com, PrivateAssetManager.com and JunkRemovalSeattle.com
https://www.abdulbasit.com/domain-consulting
Alright, i was wishing you would help… i am new to domaining and don’t have that kind of money now.. thank you
Salam Abdulbasit, Hope everything is Okay for you!
Should we use Afternic BIN or Request Price lander for domains priced at 1288 ?
Thanks in advance!
Hello and WaAlaikum Salam,
I suggest using “Price Request” lander. But for 3 figures domain to a maximum of $2000 price, using BIN lander is also fine. You may give it a test for a couple of months and see how it works.
Man, really glad to see all of your sales, you’ve come so far! My warmest greetings for you and the family.
Thank you so much Edward 🙂
Best wishes!
When starting, what is the best strategy when selling a domain, buying some more or renewing some existing ones ?
Can’t wait for the experience of May 2024 ^^
Renew only those which are worth renewing it. Renewing domains have no relation with selling domains. But one thing to keep in mind that domain quantity plays a big role in the sales.
Good luck! 🙂
Nice
