Hi everyone,
Since January 2020 I’ve been using an Afternic lander which has been giving some very good results. Going onwards further, I’ll be using “experience” instead of “experiment” in the post title as one of my friends, Aamir from DotCorner suggested to me to change it, which is a wise advice.
With the February 2024 sales going very strong, it was quite an opposite last month. Although the number of sales remained in the similar range, but the amount of sales was way down.
Humagic.com – Hold time 4 years and it sold for $2,988 via BIN.
StepLogic.com – Acquired via SnapNames for low 3 figures in 2018 and sold it for $1,988 BIN.
AccessContent.com – Hold time 4 years and this was also a $1,988 BIN.
SimpleSolutions.net – Good two word combinations do sell in .net but I will warn you guys that they’re pretty slow to sell and you’ve to price it pretty low as compared to .com. This one sold for $1,988 via BIN.
ICanCare.com – This domain received an offer of $2,414 but I remained firm on my BIN of $4,888 and eventually it sold for the BIN. Hold time 3 years.
FinaCredit.com – Another BIN sale for $3,988 and hold time 3 years.
Ecumen.com – The biggest sale of last month and this domain sold for $19,888 after holding it for 7 years.
ArgoCap.com – Acquired via SnapNames in 2021 and this one sold last month for $4,888 via BIN.
Purifeye.com – Another BIN sale of $1,988 and hold time was 5 years. I think I could’ve fetched more on this brandable domain but I’ve to keep sacrificing to have a sustainable business model.
SandraOrtiz.com – I always like to invest in 1-2 word person names and usually I avoid buying female names because they tend to sell slower than male names. This one sold for $1,988 via BIN and the hold time was 4 years.
CameronInvestments.com – A GoDaddy closeout domain acquired 2 years back and sold for $1,988.
DontDieBroke.com – Another GoDaddy closeout domain acquired 2 years back and this one too sold it for $1,988.
CogentLaw.com – This domain was acquired almost 7 years back and the sale price was $4,888.
RkMarine.com – Two letter + strong keywords are always a good investment. This one sold for $2,988 via BIN.
There were a total of 14 sales and half of them were $1,988 each. This is no surprise because 31% of my portfolio is priced at $1,988 so that justifies it.
The number of inquiries for March was slightly above 1,550 which is less than the previous month and the total number of domains at the end of March 2024 were a little more than 9,290.
Total acquisition + holding costs was around $3,000 and the total amount of sales was $58,432.
I wanted to thank my Afternic rep Adam Ramsdell and the brokers who were involved in making the deals smoothly and professionally.
Feel free to share your sales and give your feedback on mine if you like to. It doesn’t matter how good or good the feedback is 😉

Hi. Which lander are you currently using at Afternic?
Thank you.
Hi Daryl,
Currently using “price request” lander (ns3/ns4).
I guess Afternic is kicking ass …better than Sedo
Afternic is giving a lot better results as they’ve more brand recognition and bigger partner registrars network which brings in more sales than Sedo. But listing with Sedo is also a good idea IMO.
Congrats on the latest sales, mate. Well done.
Thank you Matt!
I hope you and your family are doing good. How are your sales coming up lately?
Great Sales… Thanks for sharing..
Thank you Harmandeep bhai 🙂
Congratulations, and thank you for sharing your insights!
Thank you Logan! I’m glad you liked it 🙂
Thanks
I will like to learn about the efforts you make to make these sales happen…. I think much of the effort is related to acquisition of these names?
I am curious to know what thing motivates you to keep the name for more than 7 years… I think you are too confident to each of the name in your portfolio.. so how do you build the confidence?
.And, how is your life in Malaysia. I know you shifted from Pakistan to Malaysia… I’m from India.
Thanks
Sorry Pawan brother for the late response as your comment somehow landed in the spam. You’re right that most of the effort goes into researching, finding and buying domains rather than selling it. I try to buy domains which I believe of keeping it forever unless it sells. It’s not easy to check each and every domain when the renewal time comes so I focus on domains which I at the time of buying believes that this is worth keeping it for a long term. I moved to Malaysia and lived there for 2 years and now moved to Turkey.… Read more »
Abdul Basit bahi,
As always very impressive Sales report. You know Domain Business very well masha Allah!!!
Thank you so much Anjum brother 🙂
Congrats again brother! Another excellent month. What price points do you typically use <$1,000?
Thanks!
The minimum BIN I set is $1,988 and 31% of my the portfolio is priced for $1,988.
Thank you for sharing. After reading your successes I have decided to give Afternic a try again after many, many years, and I’ve got 18 different inquiries so far. No sales yet but its only been 20 days so I remain hopeful that sooner than later a sale will happen. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you Anthony for your kind words and sharing your progress. Feel free to share in the near future how are your results with Afternic.
Will do!
Thank you! 🙂
So what the commission fees compare to Dan or Sedo?
Dan is 15% same like Afternic.
Sedo is 15% if the sale is coming via Sedo directly and 20% if the sale coming in via one of their partner registrars. And 10% on the BIN sales.
Q- if Dan and Afternic charge the same fees 15%
and Dan is part of Afternic..
so is it better to point the domains to ns1. afernic or dan nameservers?
so what the differene?
I’ve not tried Dan lander ever but I strongly believe that ns3/ns4 is far better than ns1/ns2 because 3/4 is showing price request lander whereas 1/2 is showing ads for making money and there is just a small space on top which says something like domain is for sale type message which lowers the chance of selling your domain compared to priced request lander.
Thanks for details sharing but want to know what is your take on 2letter+ logistics?
I’m glad you liked it 🙂
2L + logistics is a great combination as far as the 2L are decent letters and not something like ZX, QZ, etc.
Thanks for feedback the letter is JU
It’s an okay combination. I would suggest to invest in premium letters. For more details – https://www.domainsherpa.com/domain-name-dictionary/premium-letters
Very good and inspirational Basit, thumbs up ????
Thank you Khawar bhai 🙂
Thank you for sharing!
Your information is very useful for the domain community.
I have a question to ask you.
What presentence of your sales is coming from Afternic, Sedo, DAN?
Also, considering how many data you have, have you ever try to analyze your sales per week day, month day and month?
I m throwing you the idea for your next post 🙂
Personally I have detect that my sales peak on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as also between 15-20 of each month!
Thank you Dimitrios 🙂 I’ve listed all my domains at Afternic and Sedo and not at DAN. Why not DAN, I’ve shared my experience here – https://www.abdulbasit.com/domaining/my-first-and-last-experience-with-dan-com-as-seller So far this year, all sales have happened via Afternic and none through Sedo. But I still list with them because I get a sale occasionally but this time it’s taking longer than usual. There is nothing fixed on which day of the week is the best in terms of more sales but Saturday/Sunday are the slowest for sure. Also sometimes more sales happen at the start of the month and the next… Read more »
Salam Abdulbasit and congrats again!
Is Crypto a strong keyword to consider for LLCrypto ?
Thanks
Thanks Morjane!
I wouldn’t recommend buying LLCrypto.
