Hello everyone,
This is the fourth post of the Afternic experiment series after I published January, February and March results which I’m hopeful that some of my readers find it interesting.
Had total 5 sales via Afternic with total $17,826 Gross sales. I consider this a good month but at least couple of things were missing. First, there was no big sale like high 4 figures or any of 5 figures. Secondly, almost no offers came in this month which usually comes via Afternic broker.
Some of the highlights of April 2020 are as below:
There were once again very close to 600 inquiries which includes the inquiries on repeating domains as well. this time I just reached a little over 3,750 domains right at the end of April. This is to note that this was one of the slowest month in terms of acquiring domains.
2 out of 5 sales happened via Afternic cart which includes Cygnini.com for $6,000 and Rebourne.com for 5,000.
AssureRx.com sold for $2,988 and NarrativeContent.com for $950. Both these happened via GoDaddy.
Only one happened via Afternic partner registrar which was Communicator.org sold for $2,888.
Holding period of the above sold domains was from 1 to 6 years. Altogether acquisition cost for these 5 domains was under $800.
On the other hand, one of my fellow domainer friend whom I’m sure many of you know with the name of @JudgeMind at NamePros who shared his sales of April and with his permission I’m going to share it below for you guys:
Nosepod.com $299
Lumos.ca $899
Aircans.com $799
Although he had a decent last month where he sold a lot more domains in total but not that many via Afternic. Above 3 domain acquisition cost was $38 only!
Feel free to give your feedback and if you like to add your experience with Afternic, feel free to share. Also you may contact me directly if you like your results to be published in my next report post.

Great sales abdul bhai… Keep us informed about sales and acquisitions.. You are a great person bro…
WaAlaikum Salaam
Glad you like it my friend 🙂
1. When you spot a name, what are the things you look that makes you feel it’s great name.
2. What are the tools you used to know good Keywords and brandable name?
1. Existing potential endusers.
2. Use ExpiredDomains.net to find good domains.
Amazing Sales Abdul sir, Cygnini sound’s super brandable 🙂
Thanks Sanjeev for commenting with your feedback 🙂
Thanks Abdul vai for your detailed report…
I really loved the sales of cygini.com and rebourne.com .
I would love to know about sale of narrativecontent.com, is it negotiated or bin?
Do you increased your price to match the profit considering Afternic has more Commission rates than uniregistry lander.
Thanks and all the best.
Thanks for your feedback Avijit bhai 🙂
The sale of NarrativeContent was at BIN.
I keep the same price at all marketplaces even when I was using Uni landers, I keep the same price both at Afternic and Sedo.
Best wishes! 🙂
Thanks for sharing details of your Afternic experiment and your overall sales for April. Encouraging to see sales happening, even if you didn’t get any high 4-figure or 5-figure sales. Best of luck for your May sales.
Glad you like them Paul and thanks for commenting 🙂
I agree that at least the sales are happening and overall it ended well so no complaints.
Would love to see you start sharing sales in near future 🙂
Hi Abdul
Congratulations , great result.
May I ask how did you figure out “Cygnini” is a good name, based on what research, do you have dicitionary searching tools which can help to chose good name name when you purchase?
Thanks a lot!~
Thank you Tania 🙂 The best tool I can suggest anyone is to type any keyword at Google search and see. If you do Cygnini search, it will say “Swans are birds of the family Anatidae within the genus Cygnus. The swans’ closest relatives include the geese and ducks. Swans are grouped with the closely related geese in the subfamily Anserinae where they form the tribe Cygnini.” Also DotDB.com is very helpful to know if there are any existing endusers – https://dotdb.com/search?keyword=cygnini&position=any I use ExpiredDomains.net for buying expiring domains and I found Cygnini from there itself and if my memory… Read more »
Thank you Abdul, you are awesome, I learn lot of things from you about domaining, you are a REAL Professional domainers.. good on you!
BTW, do you know is there any way multiple keyword can be search on expired domain in one go.
For example, I want to see what are domain expiring or deleting by ending word “club”, “hotel”, “Go” etc with .com and up to max 8 digit. When i search like this it doesnt work.
Also when I chose English dictionary keyword, it doesnt work!
Thanks for your kind words. Much appreciated 🙂 Well, I don’t see any option to enter multiple keywords and search for it. But you can definitely enter up to 30 keyword like “club”, “hotel”, “go” by opening Filters, Common. There you’ll see Domain Name Whitelist and Domain Name Blacklist where you can enter keywords either to start with, contain, ends with or in Blacklist where you can add keywords which you don’t want to be seen in the results per your need. For maximum characters, in same Common, you’ll see “Domain Name Settings”, “Length” where you can enter minimum and… Read more »
Thank you so much Abdul, you are awesome! i will try to learn how to use it as per your instruction.
BTW, do you know what is the best way to Domain Backorder, I can see a domain I like isn’t renewed, it will do though drop catch process.. Probably Hugedomain or Godaddy will catch it.
Is there any way if I can register it before them through any Domaincatching software or by submitting multiple backorders in 5-6 domain registerer? Please guide us on this.
You can email me with other questions as this post is not so relevant to that.
Thanks for understanding.
Congrats Abdul. Your selling prices are always on point and really admire you for that. Wishing you more sales in the coming months.
Thank you dear 🙂
Good to find I’m on right track and not underselling domains.
Wish you all the best and thanks for reading and always commenting 🙂
Good-Show Abdul,
Please, kindly point out 2 factors that you like best about Afternic, AND 2 factors that you like best about Sedo.
And do you recommend using brokers at those sites, over simply using their landers?
Eagerly awaiting your response.
Thank you.
Thanks Nikola 🙂
Afternic gives you the best exposure to sell your domains without you doing anything at your end.
Afternic brokers are smart and very professional at their work. I’m quite satisfied with their brokerage.
About Sedo, you can get some good deals in buying.
Also I like their external escrow service. Smooth and reliable.
I would suggest you give Afternic landers a try with ns3/ns4 and not ns1/ns2.
Best wishes!
I think this is becoming Namepros… nice discussion, we shall continue and learn something from domaining mentor Abdul Basit..good on you man!
Thanks and best wishes Tania! 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
Do you know how many domains have @JudgeMind in his portfolio?
Good luck!
Hi there
I have around 2700 domains at the moment
Please Abdul, Allow me your mountain-top analysis on the following: About 45 DAYS AGO, I listed 87 domain names for sale with a BIN pricing, on AFTERNIC, using ns3/ns4 NAMESERVERS. An EXAMPLE of the domain names I listed on Afternic – sugarcanejuices thesmellofcoffee celebratelifewithcakes victorianmillinery(over 20yrs old domain) workingdogproducts smokefreenow ephraimowens (over 12yrs old) moontours kargasoktea comicrelief antiaged drinkhempjuice bellairecannabisclinic My dashboard at Afternic as of NOW is showing no visits yet. TWO WEEKS ago I listed for sale on SEDO about 27 domain names. ((Very different names from those at Afternic.)) Example: gameshut cowboys-toys high-thc chilliumpipes powerfulmind fatmensclub vehiclesliquidation… Read more »
To clarify, Afternic doesn’t show any stats if you use ns3/ns4 and you’ll only come to know any stats by getting reports generated by Afternic which you can ask them by contacting directly.
Also I would suggest you to use the same ns3/ns4 and add your domains to every other marketplaces like Uniregistry, Sedo and others. I’ve only listed with Afternic, Sedo and Uni and don’t like to list elsewhere like BrandBucket, SquadHelp due to their high commission.
Hope it’s clear for you now? 🙂
Hi Senior Abdul, if you have a domain like LovelyMove.com and you want to check for popularity in Dotdb.com. will you key in the two keywords like”LovelyMove” or just individually.like “lovely. thank you.
Definitely lovelymove or lovely move with space between 2 keywords. Only 1 keyword to see the popularity for 2 keywords doesn’t make sense.
If DotDB doesn’t show results for 2 keywords with space, then you need to get their paid plan and you may also try their 7 days free trial.
