Find your WHOIS and hosting history for FREE!

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

I have been to long vacation last month with family to Malaysia.

Recently my interview was published at PakWired (Twitter)- one of the most popular technology news website of Pakistan.

Now as I’m back last month so let me get into action by sharing couple of websites which I sometimes use for finding WHOIS and hosting history which is free of cost. I’m sure many will be aware of these services but it can be reminder for the known people and especially good for those who had no idea about such services exist free of cost. By the way, I have no affiliation with any of the below sites.

DomainHistory – If you visit and type in suppose TheCow.com and search it. That will show you history of recent and past WHOIS records. So as you can see by the current record, it’s own by myself and going down, it will show you previous records along with the dates it has archived the WHOIS. So in past, it was owned by someone named Abdullah Alkulaibi from Saudi Arabia. If you like their service, can apply for 30 days free trial which requires card detail but you can always choose to stop using free trial at the end to at least avail 1 month service free of cost.

HosterStats –  Suppose you type in the same domain TheCow.com in search which will eventually take you to this link where you can see:

According to the screenshot, it shows that the domain was first hosted in 2000 and last in 2016 at the latest host which is Uniregistry Market.

Feel free to share if anyone knows any alternative site for any of these services which is free of charge to share with others. Also your comments are much appreciated no matter how good or good they are 😉

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

I use John McCormac’s site, HosterStats, all the time. It’s great a free tool and he is a domain stats genius. 🙂 Something important to consider is that if it says “deleted” that just means there weren’t any nameservers or they changed. Sometimes a domain will have a continuous registration history but the way John presents the information can be a bit confusing. Usually “Transfer” means the nameservers change as far as I can tell. Doesn’t update his the blog but it has some interesting insights and articles btw. earthfusion.com There is also WhoisRequest but it has a daily limit.… Read more »
