Hello everyone,
First of all, thanks to everyone for the support and encouragement on the step of leaving Afternic. It’s been a hectic day as it’s not easy to switch to a different lander and make the necessary changes. I forgot to mention in my previous post that I’ve delisted all of my domains at Afternic and Sedo which will not get me any sales via their distribution network. I wanted to go all-in with the new move and see how it goes.
After careful consideration, I finally decided to move my domains to Efty.com which is offering some great features. I’m still in the testing phase and it will take some time to get adjusted.
On a side note, I wanted to share that both my sons are still using the Afternic “price request” lander and will continue to do so. The reason behind this is that they’re in their initial stage of settling down and I think Afternic is still a good choice for them.
A good thing for using my own lander is that I’ll be quoting the price after rechecking the domain and if the current price is set low, I can readjust and quote accordingly.
In the coming times, I’ll be sharing the experience of using Efty and how sales are coming up as well.
It would be nice to see some of you sharing their experiences using Efty landers.
Thank you!

Thanks for letting us know about Efty.
I’ll try it and let you know with my thoughts soon.
Thank you Asad brother.
Sure, that would be nice.
I’ve been using Efty.com for years and it works very well. Managing my portfolio, selling, and you, who have a large portfolio, will be much easier than being on Afternic and Sedo.
Wow! Thanks for sharing your feedback. That’s good to know Jose 🙂
Thanks for keeping us in the loop. Wishing you all the best in your new direction. Please do keep us posted on how it goes!
Thank you Niz!
For sure, I’ll keep sharing the progress as it happens.
I used to subscribe to efty but then they didnt care to make room for 2500 portfolio domains only the low 4 figures and the higher one .I didn’t have 5k domains then . So I messaged Doron and asked if there is a way to make room for a 2500 portfolio. His response was no . So at that point, I stopped subscribing as his response was a turn off ,no explanation, just no .I was just building my portfolio and was even supporting a domain investor as I wanted to control my leads and not pau any commission… Read more »
That’s bad to hear you didn’t had a good experience with the support. I always had a fantastic support no matter I’ve been using Efty or not.
Yeah, it’s good to have your sons get involved in this business and see if domain investing is of their interest. It gives complete freedom which is one of the most attractive thing operating this business.
Good luck to you as well Meka!
Hi Meka, sorry to read your comments and that you feel a founder’s refusal to a request is related to ego. For context, I think it is essential to note that we have never declined any domain investor solely because their portfolio is too small. I suspect your request was for us to facilitate a subscription between the Growth plan (which allows up to 1500 domains and the Pro plan (which allows up to 5000 domains). This means you had the option to use Efty by subscribing to the next tier, but you chose not to because you felt it… Read more »
Thank you for replying here and explaining further instead of saying “no” which didnt make anything clear when I messaged you .
No worries, I wish I had explained it better to you at the time.
For many years, subscriptions have been the only revenue stream for us so we have always be firm on pricing with every investor, big or small..
Good luck.
What are your and your sons’ portfolio sizes?
Thank you so much!
450 and 550 around for each of them.
Smart decision. Afternic just waste of time.
Thanks for your feedback Andrew.
To be frank, it wasn’t just waste of time for me. I really had good time with them and made a lot of money. Of course, every one has their say and experiences which I respect.
It was just time to move onto next level considering the quality+quantity of domains in my portfolio.
Why you will not do your own landing page for example with wordpress and redirect everything.
You do not need efty.
Afternic with their funny brokers is really disgusting platform.
Thanks for your suggestion and feedback.
Well, I would want people to contact for their interested domain seprately. Going to one lander and then sending query will not be clear which domain the potential buyer is interested and will need to ask first. It seems complicated.
It’s possible. I’m testing it right now.
It requires time to create separate landing page for each domain – but it would be the total control after that. The look, the stats, even ads if want to monetize.
+ Direct traffic comes to your domain, not 3rd party.
What is your luck with SSL?
Some places like domaineasy and spaceship have instant SSL whereas Efty and SAW seem to struggle issuing the certificates, sometimes taking days or never getting one unless you call support. Are all your domains resolving properly?
SSL certificate issue isn’t resolved yet. I’m told that it will take another 2 days to fix the issue completely. I hope it’s done sooner than later.
Hmm, it’s been a long time, I would not hold my breath in anticipation.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I’ll see what happens then.
Yeah, I think they do fine on smaller portfolios but even if you add around 500 domains the system at some of the marketplaces start to struggle issuing certificates. The smoothest place I have ever seen is at DomainEasy, it’s absolutely instant and Efty should contact them to see how they do it because I can add 500 domains there and the certificates are instant.
Efty’s SSL engine has been running reliably for years, and any long-term Efty user can testify to that. Unfortunately, AbdulBAsit started adding his domains on the same day we onboarded a few other much larger portfolios, which created a backlog for newly added domains. These issues are not uncommon, and users reported missing SSL certificates with Spaceship landers for weeks, not long ago – something undoubtedly related to their success and a large influx of names. We have now increased capacity and ramped up the engine so it can support a much larger number of certificates in the same time,… Read more »
Looks like a very good move for you! I tested Efty years ago when I first started selling names (junk names) and didn’t know much. I liked it and their customer service is excellent. (I just recently had some contact with Doron and he still provides excellent service.)
Thanks for sharing your experience. That’s very nice to hear.
Check out Dream Domains com lander. May be you can offer our planet some knowledge along the way.
Thank you, brother AbdulBasit, for sharing your noteworthy step with us. I wish you the best of luck in this new journey, and we always look forward to hearing your latest updates. Sending you my sincere respect and appreciation.
Many thanks for your kind words and encouragement which is much appreciated.
I’ll definitely be sharing the results in the coming months.
After years of working with Afternic and listing tens of thousands of domains, we’ve gained enough firsthand experience to speak candidly: Afternic’s business model is outdated. Despite having over 50,000 domains listed, sales remained stagnant. The brokerage service is ineffective, customer support is consistently poor, and the platform itself is riddled with technical issues—from broken landers to payment links that fail, and listings that don’t even show up properly. These problems aren’t isolated—they’re persistent. Many domain investors are frustrated, and we’ve reached the same conclusion: it was time to move on. We’ve migrated our portfolio elsewhere. So Abdul Basit, your… Read more »
Wow! That’s an amazing sharing of experience Alex. I’m pretty impressed with your numbers and you had to leave Afternic as well.
I’m curious to know if you can share which landers/platform are you using and any domain of yours to see the real example to gather more knowledge?
Many thanks!
