Hello everyone,
Today I wanted to share my recent and past experience from two well-known brokerage companies GritBrokerage and Saw.
I tried Saw.com in 2020 for a 6 months period for my best 50+ domains. I expected some positive results from them as one should expect it. However, during the entire 6 months tenure, most of the time I had to ask for the updates if there were any and very few and low offers were presented by their buyers. No successful sale happened. Since I cannot know how much effort was really put behind the scenes so I cannot say much. But I wasn’t happy to use their service and won’t recommend anyone as well.
Recently I tried GritBrokerage for around 20 domains including most of my top .CO domains like Business, News, Finance, Whiskey, Men, Ski, Internet, Vodka, Fish, Decor, etc. I have actually done business with GritBrokerage in the past as a buyer and had a pleasant experience with them. I was mainly impressed with their .CO sales and wanted to try their service and see how it goes for my domains. We mutually agreed on a certain price for all the domains and initially did the 6 months contract.
There was no sale during this period but I was very much hopeful to have at least one sale with them. That’s why I decided to extend for another 6 months, which ended very recently. So altogether I tried one year but ended with selling no domain through them. Although they presented one solid offer which I accepted but according to them, the buyer vanished lately.
My suggestion for both companies especially for Saw is that you guys should keep your clients updated with any progress even if there is no positive update to share. It’s not good that most of the time, a client has to reach out and ask for the update and then it’s provided.
Coming to the conclusion, I just wanted to share my personal experience and I think some may have a good experience with them which I won’t disagree with but this is what I went through and wanted to share it with you all.
I would love to hear your thoughts about my experience and feel free to share your experience using any of the above companies for buying and/or selling domains.
Saw experience was slow from the beginning. It took them a long time to even add all my names after I had changed nameservers. The broker came in all nice and you would expect them to be fast but they were slow.I had to complain and ask for updates on more than 200 names (God thing i didnt add more). Then I was lucky to get an offer on a name and as a top brokerage, I was expecting them to aim high. They were weak telling me about a 5k offer which I refused and then 7k plus offer which… Read more »
Thanks for sharing your experience which is very much appreciated. I’m sure this will be helpful to many readers.
I’ve a similar mind of not trying brokers service where I mostly had a bad experience. Although I’m happy with Afternic brokers but that’s a different case as they handle the incoming leads whereas Saw/GritBrokerage and other brokerage firms do outreach their clients according to what they say.
Sorry you feel that way. We do not have our own names. We dont take your leads. That is not how we do business. That is why we launched our own transparent marketplace so you can see what is happening. You can self broker or use ours.
We made a sale for you was everything above board during that process?
You people wait to be asked for update before providing it .I switched nameservers and it took weeks with excuses before landing page resolved . Sellers need to know what is going on even if there is no offer on the table from hundreds of domains being handled exclusively for months .How do you expect to have your properties listed in a decent area and not get a response from your agent if any offer came in ? I had to keep pushing to hear if buyer is still serious before I heard back because I was moving in. The… Read more »
I think 20-50 is way too many names to broker at a time during a 6-months period. I haven’t used a broker but if I did, I would give no more than 5 high value domains with a clearly identifiable general group of potential buyers. The value add from brokers is in the targeted outreach and follow-up that they will do that you are not in a position to do yourself. The more domains, the less time and deeply focused targeting that can be done per domain. BTW, I think 2020 was not a good year for corporate spending because of… Read more »
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
If 20-50 domains are way too many, then the results should be at least somewhat good for the seller and with the domains I gave for the brokerage are considered the top keywords in .CO extension.
Thanks for sharing
Thank you Harmandeep brother 🙂
these brokers have nothing to update if they do nothing. they are not as serious as the domain investor it seems. as they say in the UK: “the proof is in the pudding”. but on the other hand, the market turned the last 12 to 18 months and it seems to me 6 months is a short period or they do not have enough clients. this is really good to know, your experience, first hand. thanks.
Thanks for sharing your feedback Mel 🙂 Much appreciated!

Hi. Recently tried Grit(Jan 2024), and agreed to 6 months like you did. The names were listed in the next monthly newsletter. The following newsletter, only one of the names was listed for some reason.
Have not had any sort of contact from them in 5 months.
I would encourage Grit to offer some sort of user interface to monitor traffic/inquiries if they aren’t going to give any feedback or updates.
Will be trying Atom next.
Best of luck everyone.
Thank you Don for sharing your experience. I’m sure this will help the readers and gives me also more knowledge about their service. I totally agree that there has to be some follow-ups/updates from their side which actually was done with me but not enough unless I asked them. Your suggestion is a good one and they should implement it something like that to attract more sellers.
Our new marketplace offers more transparency than any other. Soon enough, our Broker/Seller experience will allow you to see what is happening at each opportunity.
FOR THE RECORD: Our agreement with Abdul began right before the pandemic. That was a very scary/challenging time for myself and my colleagues at Saw.com. Since then we have sold over 60M worth of domains.
We want another attempt once we launch some of these products that will hopefully provide what was. missing the first time we worked together.
