I haven’t published previous month’s parking revenue and it will be done by next month which will have combo of two months together.
It’s been several months since I have started backordering domains at Pheenix.com seriously. The word ‘seriously’ was added because when Pheenix.com was launched I jumped in to see the new service but it didn’t work in my favor because almost every time someone had already placed the backorder and that time Pheenix was taking backorders on first come first serve basis. I am always in favor of such system so I was trying my best to place backorders as quickly as possible.
When they got known to many of the domainers, they changed to auction system similar to NameJet and Snapnames since the start of 2013-08-01. I got an email from the CEO Tan Tran letting me know that from now onwards Pheenix will allow multiple backorders on domains. For all domain names caught after 2013-08-01, if there are multiple backorders placed on the domain, then a 3 day private auction will be held. Only customers that have an active backorder on the domain name prior to the domain name being caught will be allowed to participate in the private auction.
I just stopped backordering because I was attracted towards them with first come first serve basis and later it was changed. Tan was good enough to offer me 2 additional backorder credits which I refused to take at that time and took my credit back.
I still see the competition is a touch low at Pheenix compare to other platforms which are known to everyone but since I am sharing with you guys, the competition is going to be stronger now 😉
Fast forward today, I am actively using their service and quite happy with their success ratio. I would strongly suggest to use them along with NameJet and Snapnames to backorder domains.
What’s your experience with Pheenix and how things go with you while using that company to backorder domain names?
You still end up in an auction scenario if 2 or more people backorder the same domain so effectively there is no difference to Namejet, Snapnames or other back ordering service.
That’s right. But the main reason to share Pheenix as another backordering service because still many domainers are unaware of this new company which is fairly doing well in catching some cool names.
Another good thing about them compare to NameJet and Snapnames is they charge you $18.95 if you are the only bidder.
I heard about it but not created an account there and after reading your review soon I’ll be opening an account at Pheenix. And, although they are not serving names on first come first served basis still I think there is a chance to get good names on low price because of few bidders.
Yeah, right. I have won several names at good prices which I am sure would have been sold for higher price at other popular venues…
What happens if you create a backorder with Pheenix for the same domain name that someone backordered with another service like NameJet or Snapnames (or GoDaddy for that matter)?
It’s very simple… Whoever grabs the domain, will auction the domain as Pheenix, GoDaddy, SnapNames, NameJet, DropCatch all do auction for the domain which is snap by them.
So it’s best to backorder from multiple services?
Yes, it’s better to place backorder on all sites mentioned above as no one charge you upfront unless they have caught for you and finds no other person putting backorder for that name.
Btw, there are companies who charge you upfront like Epik.com and Name.com but their catching ratio is really poor.
Thank you Abdul! This was very helpful.
You’re welcome and thanks for coming 🙂
If one day you cant pay the domain you won, they can get all your domains back.
Never experienced this but scary yeah 😀
If they can do than other registrars can do too and I think it’s good to give a lesson to those who simply pump up the auction and fails to make payment. Better to take away all their names and auction off in their respective marketplaces.
