Hello everyone,
There have been several instances where the loyal readers of this blog have expressed dissatisfaction and/or requested to share the purchase price when I publish my domain sales or acquisitions. I usually don’t mention the exact price but sometimes I give out the price range I had paid for the domains.
So today I’ve decided to share the complete detail from purchase price to the sales price. Well, I acquired TruthTeller.com privately on 8th October 2020 for $500. I put up $19,888 BIN and Floor price at Afternic and on 13th October 2020, I received an email informing me about the domain getting sold via Fast Transfer for $19,888.
By the way, it’s really not easy to acquire domains privately. It takes a lot of research, time and patience to get some good deals. Recently I’ve been doing some private acquisitions which I plan to share soon once everything is sorted out. Right now I’m in the middle of completing the deal. It all started in April 2020 and is still ongoing…
On the other hand, my fastest sale to date remains the same – Textbooks.CO which I sold in 24 hours back in 2013 via outbound marketing.
I’m glad that my second fastest sale also happened to be in the 5 figures range.

I’m currently using NS3/NS4 landers.
All landers using NS3/NS4 are having contact form and no BIN price.
Also my BIN and Floor prices are same for all the domains.

If you read the post again, I’ve mentioned that “I put up $19,888 BIN and Floor price at Afternic“.
So yes it had BIN. Also I believe all my domains with Afternic has the BIN+Floor set.
Without adding BIN at Afternic, it’s waste of time to list there. Because I’ve experienced this for years and wasted my time and got almost no sales.

Blimey so many congrats! I must get my Afternic portfolio set up & running properly by next month as still not much success with Sedo or Dan. Also, I have now started trying to do some outbound marketing with a big help from Yogi Solanki (Outbound Domains). For example, I just managed to register QiriWire.com after finding http://www.qiri-wire.marplist.com (terrible long name with hyphen & dot but with a full running site!) & also PrioritySquad.com as Robert Nutting, a billionaire businessman & sports team owner had registered PrioritySquad.net (not.com!) only last May this year! Yes, I strongly suggest moving to Afternic ns3/ns4 landers.
Also my suggestion is never buy domains targeting 1-2 companies only IF that’s how you buy few or more domains on this criteria.

Afternic / Godaddy do a great job buying and selling domains,
I put it this way because I also buy domains (Com) $ 500 in Godaddy but not have the luck of a domain sale so fast, one day this luck will come.

Yes, I agree with you about Afternic/GoDaddy. They’ve a lot of exposure and people trust easily on them.
You see my last quickest flip was in 2013 and then came in after 7 years when I added few more thousands of domains…

Wow, inspiring! Can you share a bit about what made you see the potential in TruthTeller.com in the first place? Was it seeing that there are multiple companies with that name who seem to have the budget? And if so—why didn’t those companies just reach out to the previous owner to propose a sale? Tbh, I wouldn’t have spent $500 on that domain, which just shows how much I still have to learn.
Several factors including existing multiple companies who can upgrade to TruthTeller.com
I cannot know why anyone else didn’t try to approach the previous owner, but one thing for sure in this case was that it was difficult to reach out to the owner and to strike the deal which took a considerable amount of time.
