Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,
I wanted to share something really interesting stats with you. Last year I was talking to one of DNS (DomainNameSales.com) broker and he told me that you get lots of inquires for a portfolio of your size. At that time there were 1000 clients on DNS. You get the 25th most leads.
Today I asked him once again to have the latest update and he said that I got 1650 leads so far this year and my portfolio ranks in at the 84th most on the platform out of 1331 people. Considering my small size of portfolio and getting nearly 2k domain inquiries is good indicator with this month still to complete. Also being in the top 100 considering the size of portfolio and leads together isn’t too bad either 😉
Hey cool man keep on goingg
IIs it true that there are only 1,331 total people that have names listed with DNS? If this is true then the domain market is much much smaller then I originally thought it was.
I am honestly blown away by that stat.
The criteria for getting an approval at DNS is quite strict as compare to other parking companies just to keep things clean and have quality domains at their platform.
Compare to SEDO where there are thousands of people having account with them and almost similar number of parked domains at DNS as well 1,340,569 as of now according to DomainTools. This shows that although there are only over 1k people have listed their names with DNS but definitely has more quality names than other platforms.
How many sales out of the 1650 leads?
Less than 12 a year. I look to get maximum out of every domain which keep the number of sales very low but the ROI is good.
Congratulations AbdulBasit 🙂 That is indeed a number to be proud.
Thanks Nuno. Yeah, that’s something really good.
Well done.
What’s the size (number of domains listed) of your portfolio in DNS?
Thanks Raymond.
Currently 800 names are parked with DNS.
Do you only use domain sales for sale? or you sell through other channels?
In regards to 12 sales vs 1650 inquires. How many names of yours get 80% of total inquires ? Is it 20% / 80% rule still applies to your requests. And how many of them was sold?
Do you think that lets say lowering your price and selling 24 names per year, could improve your ROI over all, or do you find that you want to sell the least amount of names for most profit?
For quite some time I have been using DNS for selling my domains and no other platform or outside brokers.
What exactly do you mean by 20%/80% rule on inquiries?
I have some plans to sell more domains next year compare to this one just to buy more quality names and keeps thing rolling… But of course won’t be in hurry or sell for loss 😉
I mean, do you find that 20% of your domains, get 80% of inquires? Or 40% / 60%? or its pretty even number spread out among domains?
I think it’s around 30-35% of domains which get 80% of inquiries.
Awesome!
Congrats, this is another good news of the year. Insha Allah hope that your sales will rank in top 100 on DNS from next year.
Thanks Sameeruddin for the compliment. Hope you have better next year In Sha ALLAH 🙂
