Several more domain purchases of 2017

Hello and Asslamo Alaikum,

I think the last acquisitions post was made in February 2017 so I thought it’s the time to share once again.

Beginning of this month, I now have hit the mark of 1,500 domains in my portfolio.

Usually I share only few domain purchases and try to post those which gives clear idea of what type of names I acquire and this may help others in understanding. This doesn’t mean one should start buying similar type of names and you should be doing your own research as everyone has their own budget, knowledge, skills, ideas and luck, etc.

I have had a little success in selling .CO domains for profit and I always like to buy 1 word .CO names and 3L .CO which are good to invest IMO. So this year I got several of them which are listed below.

Renovations.CO, Craze.CO, Courtney.CO, Lynch.CO – Got 1 word .CO names which I think are good to have.

COK.CO, NOI.CO, LUS.CO, LOR.CO, TAY.CO, TEZ.CO, MDN.CO – These type of combinations are selling for low-mid 4 figures range and I think they are good to invest. But prepare to hold them for long time as they are not 3L .coms 😉

FoodShopping.com – Online food/grocery store.

BeExtreme.com – Adventure/sports loving, an aggressive and positive tagline.

LookAround.com – I love to invest in such highly brandable domain which can be used for multipurpose. You just name it. Thanks to Jamie Zoch (DotWeekly) for helping in acquiring this domain.

TheWater.com – Again a domain which can be used for many different niches and not only a water supply/bottle, aqua related company. And again thanks to Jamie for the same above reason 🙂

Cryptyc.com – Crypto related company.

BornToSparkle.com, BornToImpress.com, BornToInnovate.com – Long shot names.

ChallengersGroup.com – Sensible group names always does well. Although singular would have been better.

SHST.com, AGFF.com, OZHT.com, CMNZ.com – Can’t live without buying 4L .com domains even though I know they are slow to sell 😀

Find which .CO domains are registered of your domain

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

I have bought and sold several .CO domains and had a great experience so far. Looking at WHOIS records for thousands of domains to date, I found a tip some time back which I wanted to share with you guys.

First, you go to .CO WHOIS site, type in let’s suppose Decor and it will display the WHOIS record for Decor.CO domain name. Now let’s type in Decor. and it will display what other domains are registered after the keyword Decor. The change is you have to add full stop at the end of any keyword you are going to search for. There are couple of issues. First is it doesn’t show any registered domain with any keyword before Decor. Second issue it the result is limited to 75 results. Still it’s better than nothing.

On the other hand, I sold couple of domains which I would like to share. First was Truquesedicas.com which I sold through Afternic for $2,988. Second was EastNine.com which I last week sold through Sedo for $2,688. Each of these domain was purchased in 3 figures.

If you guys use it and find it helpful, feel free to comment and share your feedback.

Some recent domain acquisitions of 2017

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

It’s been over 6 months since I last shared my latest acquisitions. Time passed so quickly and I just didn’t knew the gap in between got too long. Because I think sharing every quarter is good idea. Okay, so let’s come to the point and below you will find some of my 2017 domain acquisitions:

PrintFactory.com – Made it look colorful to match with the print word ;). Recently ThePrintful.com acquired Printful.com for $100,000 and PrintScape.com sold for $10,000. It’s a great name to be added in our portfolio.

AdvancedLaser.com – Vast field and huge potential in this domain.

AhiGroup.com – My highest sale to date for LLLgroup.com was DcsGroup.com which sold for mid 4 figures in 2014. Since that time, I have been buying several LLLgroup.com domains and this has great potential as well. Although age doesn’t matter to me but just thought to share it’s creation date is way back in 1996.

C9Group.com – My first letter+numeric combination domain ending with group. Yet to get into my GoDaddy account. Anyone having success story with similar domains?

AABI.com, MWSA.com, PACW.com, AJBY.com – Some 4L .com added. I think having 7-10% 4L .com in your portfolio is good to keep balance but I acquired plenty last year which makes it 12% of 4L .com in my portfolio.

Vivaria.com – I see plenty of upgrades.

LifeAsItHappens.com – I like phrase domains as does Mike Mann and Mike Berkens.

Shonky.com – Brandable. Tons of upgrades.

iWannaPlay.com – Fun/Gaming/Entertainment website.

GwadarHotels.com, TravelGwadar.com, GwadarTravel.com – Not sure how many of you’re aware of Gwadar but it’s a world’s largest deep sea-port and is in Pakistan.

Never trust NameJet.com until…

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

I have been using NameJet for years and never had any issue until the end of last month when I received an email from them stating that:

“We regret to inform you that a domain you recently purchased through a pre-release auction has been cancelled, as allowed by the NameJet Agreement. Unfortunately this domain was listed in error and was not available for sale. All efforts will be made to assure this does not occur again.

As a result, we will be refunding your auction fee within the next few days.”

To make things clear, I won a domain LLL.org through NameJet on Sep 17, 2016 and the above email I received was on Oct 29th, 2016; right after 41 days of winning the domain through an auction.

My card was charged on the same day of winning the auction. However, I responded them with the following message:

“What the hell is this? It’s been more than 1 month since I won the domain and now you are taking it back?? Kindly give the domain back to me or I will make you guys popular in every domain forum and my blog AbdulBasit.com which is widely read among domainers community.”

Their technical support member responded back:

“This domain was listed in error by the seller likely due to a typo in his submission and as such, there is no domain to deliver. You were never delivered the domain in this case due to the error in listing and as such, there is nothing that we can return.

We do apologize for the inconvenience as this is a rare occasion.”

After which I contacted them again and asked to either ban the seller or verify the domain ownerships and listings before making it live for auction for which I didn’t hear anything.

Also I was not delivered the domain during the entire 41 days and I forgot to ask them as well because I buy domains from many different places and sometimes I forget to check and transfer out domains. As many readers of my blog already know that I keep all my domains with Uniregistry and try my best to move all domains which I win at different marketplaces as soon as possible to Uniregistry in order to keep it at one place and that’s easy way to organize and manage my domains.

At first, this ridiculous mistake should not have happened from NameJet.

Secondly, if it happened, why they took 41 days to inform and even more time to refund my money? Hijacking my $1,000 for that many days is not the way of doing business. This amount might not be big for someone but it’s not about the actual figure whether it be $1 or $100,000. How can you hold my funds for over 40 days and come back with lame excuse?

I’m sharing my recent experience with you all to beware using NameJet and don’t think the domain is yours until the name is transferred to your account.

I would invite my readers to give their feedback and share their experiences if they had any like that in past.

Thanks!

Some recent acquisitions until June 2016

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

As I previously shared my January and February 2016 acquisitions together, today I wanted to show some more domains which I acquired in recent time. Just wanted to add that I hit the 1300 mark of domains under my belt.

RIMG.com, JAYN.com, TIRC.com, ZSLI.com, ZRSI.com, ZAIC.com, JISB.com, GITZ.com, ACAW.com – Some of the 4L .com I bought recently. I am always looking for similar combinations.

GutCheck.com – This domain was previously owned by Mike Berkens and sold to GoDaddy when he sold his big chunk of portfolio to them. I bought from GoDaddy with the help of Jamie Zoch. Thanks to him for finding the gem at reasonable price.

Komex.com, Vican.com, Primarius.com, CityFirst.com – I love such brandable domains which can be developed into anything. The more possibilities, the more bigger reward.

Klinkenberg.com, TomWhite.com, Ayushi.com – Difficult not to list person names when sharing recent acquisitions 😀

TheCow.com – Very aged domain (1996). Although age doesn’t matter when I buy domain but I am always fond of “the” domains.

BioHair.com – Sensible health related domains always pay off well and it’s one of them.

FairDeal.com – Deal domains always do well and this domain can turn out to be one of the biggest shopping/deals portal.

POM.org, WIL.org – Since I last mentioned of buying LLL.org domains, the prices have gone a bit high. I am creating competition but that’s okay as far as I am bringing awareness and sharing what I think is right to buy in current market.

LaCity.com – The City or Los Angeles City or anything else city as well.

SignatureRealty.com – Authorititive name for any real estate agency/firm.

To summarize things in short, I look for domains where I can see lot of potential and possibilities for endusers to develop my domain into anything they like to. The more restricted, the less chance of selling and getting good price.
