Some recent domain acquisitions by AbdulBasit.com

Some-recent-domain-acquisitions-by-AbdulBasit.comHello and Assalamo Alaikum,

It’s been a while since I posted some of recent domain acquisitions. Today I wanted to share some domains which were acquired through multiple ways like auctions, pending deletes, private acquisition, etc. Below are some of the names which were bought in the last couple of months or so…

EHYG.com – I know it’s not looking good as far as characters are concerned but I will take it.

ScrapbookShop.com – I like this name and there are few companies operating under the same name and others have long tail words joining with it.

Afifah.com – It’s a Muslim name of a girl and more commonly Afifa is used, ending with letter “H” makes it less valuable but still hundreds if not thousands of people are there in world using the same spelling in their names.

LawGroups.com – This is one of my first domain in law niche but I am trying to get into this more deeply because the CPC at parking platforms for such domains are really good. As it was recently bought so can’t give you much estimate about the traffic stats but to me this sounds a decent name. Yeah, if it was singular would be far better.

Ruhrstadt.com – Normally I don’t invest in other languages but I found lot of potential in this term.

TheTurbo.com – Well, I really like domains which starts with “The” and there is fellow domainer Shane who loves it as well. I have some other domains which starts with “The” and will try to gather some other time and share with you guys. This can be used for gaming, movie, sports and many different niches.

Alchin.com – When I sold my first domain which had both first and last name a year ago had changed my mind since than as I am seeing people getting more interested in buying domains of their names. I have found two word name selling quite slow compare to one word name no matter it’s commonly used or not. As number of inquiries have rose in past few months which have made me to invest a little more in first, last and first/last names together as well.

Andrepont.com – It was registered in 90’s and dropped recently. A last name which sounds good while calling it.

HannahRose.com – A two word name which is quite common and there are many Hannah Rose who would like to upgrade their name to just HannahRose.com one day… some day…

Matmed.com – Can’t say much about this name. I like it and grabbed it from drop… May be you could add some more info for this domain…

Why buying domains privately is better than other available options

Why-buying-domains-privately-is-better-than-other-available-optionsHello everyone,

I feel it’s an interesting topic to share and discuss with you.

I have been actively buying domains through auctions like GoDaddy Auctions, NameJet, SnapNames no matter they are expiring, buy out, privately listed, etc. But there is one more way to acquire domains quite easily and without any trouble. That is to buy domains privately.

Now there are few points right now on my mind which makes me feel more comfortable buying domains privately.

1) Chances are to get reasonable price because the seller won’t require to pay any commission to middleman (broker) or any companies like Sedo, Afternic. These companies charge 10-20% commission which sellers must pay so many times if the seller is regular in this business he will up his asking price by 10-20% depending on the platform where the commission structure varies. So once you go directly there is possibility of getting straightaway discount in the range of commission they would be paying to those companies.

2) It’s completely hassle free because buying domains through an auction is to wait till you win the domain. No matter what the time is. Chances are to lose as well because some buyers don’t have idea what the real value of that domain is (reseller value) and overpay for that domain. You can be the victim too by outbidding him and winning the domain. At the end you will pay more than you were willing to and will face difficulties in selling at decent profit.

3) One more important thing while making private purchases is the negotiation tactics. You have to be very patient and never show your desperateness for that particular domain. You know there are few domains I bought privately which took me more than 1 year to acquire from the previous domain owner. The more patient you are and have negotiation skills, the more chances to get that domain with lowered price.

There can be some more advantages of buying domains privately. If you come across any, feel free to share. Also do you agree with me on above points?
