Bathroom is the best place to think of new domain ideas

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

This may be surprising to many of you but I wanted to share my personal experience and I am sure at least a few would agree with me 😉

Coming to the point of writing this post is funny but very true at least for me if not for others 😀

To be honest, I get many of the new domain ideas and thoughts while I am in bathroom. I think the main reason behind is my mind is free of every stress, old thoughts, daily routine stuff, etc. and there I starts thinking about my work without any interruption. Sometimes I had finished the job but unless the idea hasn’t been cleared I am lost into deep thoughts. Sometimes when there are some temporary issues on going in my life, ideas do come for that too as I always welcome new ideas no matter if they eventually turn out to be fruitful for me or not.

Normally when I comes out, I either save my thoughts in draft and/or inform my wife who is as updated as I am about domains. In fact, we both are handling domains business together.

I am sure many others would be in the same boat of mine but would love to hear your thoughts on this.

One major goal achieved with some other updates

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

As everyone can see I have made my last post almost a month back and the main reason behind that was to shift from Karachi to new place which I mentioned in one of my previous posts. I was going to either shift in Dubai or Islamabad this summer and ALHUMDULLILAH finally I decided and moved to Islamabad this month.

I visited Islamabad earlier too, did survey before finally shifting on permanent basis. I found this better place for my family’s future. Recently we bought new house and a hybrid car Prius Tommykaira 2011 for which I wanted to share some pictures with you all.

So far 1 goal has been achieved and I will try my best to achieve remaining 4 goals within this year although I know it will be difficult because while shifting and all I got slowed down in buying as well as selling domains. I will try my level best to publish posts more regularly from next month as I need to have some more time to sort out remaining stuff.

During this migration, I sold another domain but this time it was in four figures 😉 The domain name was RockTools.com which was sold for $4,000 through DNS broker Brooke. Thanks to Brooke for constantly keeping in touch with the buyer and wrap up the deal on time and when required exactly. Many thanks to Escrow.com too for helping in closing this deal very smoothly. I can never ask for anything better at Escrow.com as they are simply the best.

Thanks to ALLAH Almighty who showed us right path and we moved to a far better place.

Third consecutive domain sale of five figures this year

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

I feel this year is going great ALHUMDULLILAH in terms of sale prices. As my new year started with five figure sale. Then there was another five fig sale last month for which I was unable to disclose the detail. However, this month I closed another five figure sale but this time I am able to share the details with you.

Coming to the point, the domain in question is Mawad.com which I sold for $11,500 through DomainNameSales.com and Escrow.com. I think this was the fastest wire received for any of my transaction so far as it was received and approved within few hours! Thanks to Escrow.com for everything.

Immediately I thought it wasn’t going to work and we couldn’t proceed further. But as always I reply to all inquiries no matter if it looks serious or not. You never know when and which lead will turn into successful sale.

I asked 15k. Now you must be thinking that I normally don’t throw away asking price first but considering poor student and mark it as imcomplete sale quickly I just asked this price. Although I have quoted the same price in past to others as well.

He countered with $7.5k which was reasonable to start off negotiation. I asked him to come closer to my asking price if he is seriously willing to buy it. Next offer was 10k. I told him that I received 10.5k offer in past and it was true as I don’t like in trying to work out a deal. Next was 11k and finally we agreed upon 11.5k.

Buyer was quick enough in closing the deal and everything went smooth as we planned. I am very much satisfied in having all these sales but the number of domains sold so far aren’t as impressive as I planned to do so.

Parking revenue for March 2015 and other updates

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

I didn’t publish parking revenue for quite some time due to no major changes and it wasn’t worth sharing with you. But last month in March there was some improvement in revenue and I hope it continues for coming months.

As per my goals set for this year I need to sell 20-24 domains but so far not much success in terms of selling number of domains. However, I recently sold another domain for five figures for which I can’t disclose the detail but it was a good one. Although it took too long to wrap up but in the end what matters is I got what I wanted.

Coming to the parking revenue detail I would like to specially mention that increase in revenue is mainly due to adding a domain which has backlinks related to insurance.

Total visitors – 90,000+ (huge decline comparing to previous months).

Total clicks – 3,500+ (Again less number of clicks comparing to previous months).

Total parked domains – 950.

Total revenue – $700 (Better revenue comparing to many previous months)

Top 5 niche which made the most – Insurance, Health, Games, Brandable, Cooking.

$$ made on a single day – $67 (May be the highest revenue on a given day).

RPM – $10.07 (Highest so far in overall RPM).

CTR – 5.27% (Better than before).

I found there was significantly less visitors compare to previous months and I added many domains too. But at the end I like the revenue to be the most and doesn’t matter much how many visitors come 😉

There was no sale made in February and if I need to reach my goal of selling 20-24 domains this year I need to focus on selling more domains and take whatever decent profit I am getting.

It’s great feeling to get near 1k mark of collecting domains and I am not in hurry to hit that milestone quickly and more focus is on buying quality domain names.

My recent domain acquisitions including LLL.com

Yesterday Konstantinos shared some more domain purchases which he made in 2014 and one must check those names as what type of domains to acquire. That may help you in building your own quality portfolio. Below are some of the names I recently acquired:

GRO.com – I think it took too long to acquire LLL.com but finally I did it.

ACFA.com – I used to like LLLL.com but now I must start loving LLLL domains after the sale of BMGL.com 😉

EaMedia.com – Almost paid 1k for this name and once the auction was over, I thought I paid little more than I initially set budget for this domain. However, I feel this can pay off well if I hold the domain for quite some time.

FilaBrasileiro.com – Will leave this one up to you to decide whether this acquisition was good or bad. It’s a dog breed and some developed sites but what impressed me was 60,500 exact searches at Google Keyword Planner.

TheNewton.com – I love “the” word domains.

TheRestless.com – Same as above.

AboveBeyond.com – To me this is a decent brandable domain which can be used for many different purposes. Got for just under 1k.

Nieuwenhuis.com – I love person names. Quite difficult name to spell 😀

Stephane.net – Isn’t this a common name with this spelling too. Although it’s a .net but I still like it.

Papandrea.com – Not as difficult spelling as the couple of above names.
