Hi everyone,
As the first half of this year is completed, there were some major things happening all around the world. While reviewing my business, I can clearly say that I’d the one of the best 6 months of my domain investing career.
Today I’m very happy to share the results of June 2020 which I was eagerly waiting for the report to arrive so I can share with you all.
This is the sixth post of the Afternic experiment series after I published January, February, March, April and May results which Iโm hopeful that you’ll find it interesting. Although I’d initially planned to give Afternic landers a try for 6 months period which has already ended but I’ve extended the time period of using them on long term basis with the results I’ve achieved so far using their services.
In May 2020, I mentioned that there was no sale for the first 9 days and it was more longer break in the month of June of 11 days. So on 12th day I’d my first sale of the month in the shape of MarketGrid.com for $5,000. I’d put up BIN of $5,888 but after going back and forth with the buyer, it was eventually sold for that price. This was sold via Afternic lander.
Next sale was mind blowing one and the biggest BIN sale of my life. That domain was AutoFun.com which sold for $50,000. This was purchased directly via GoDaddy.com search. One of the best sale I’ve ever had.
Third sale was ToothBar.com for $6,888. This too sold via GoDaddy search. Then there was another sale of TinaChen.com for $1,988. Sold via Afternic partner registrar.
One more sale happened which I really like it – ww.biz for $4,888 via GoDaddy search. In total I’ve 4 more .biz domains.
GmTransport.com was then sold for $4,888 via Afternic lander. And the month ended up with the sale of 40hz.com for $2,888. This too sold via GoDaddy search.
Overall the cost of those domains were under $5,000 and total sale amount was $76,540. Also in May there were some 650 inquiries whereas in June, it was a little less than 600. Bit surprising because I had added some 60+ domains in the last month.
On the other hand, I’m happy to share the sales of couple of my friends.
@JudgeMind, an experienced domain investor sold some domains via Afternic which are shared below:
Dexwise.com for $1,299
Bjx.io sold for $239
ApplePie.org for $299
ReactionCapital.com for $2,500
Another fellow domain investor, Muhammad Aamir from DotCorner was happy to share his Afternic sales of June.
KingMusic.com sold for $6,000
SharkGirl.com for $3,000
PDFKit.com for $5,500
StarFilms.com for $7,500
Bisma.com for $6,500
ThunderPay.com for $3,500
Only PDFKit.com was acquired in 2017. All others were acquired in 2002-2003 period at $8 reg fees.
I tell you, those were good old days when you could hand register plenty of great domains like Aamir did. But it doesn’t mean it was too simple. One have to have the vision, knowledge and patience which is now paying off well for this fellow investor.
I appreciate both JudgeMind and Aamir for sharing their sales and if anyone would like to add their Afternic sales in future, feel free to let me know.
I would like to give due credit to my Afternic rep and brokers, I very much appreciate their hard work and dedication they put in for making all these sales to happen.
Feel free to give your feedback no matter how good or good it is ๐
Congrats. I loves to read your sales data and this is helping me to improve. Thanks
Thank you Ibrahim ๐

Congrats Abdul bhai, real good month. AutoFun.com is amazing price. Thanks for sharing. Hope for even better next month ๐
Thanks Ram!
How do your list prices compare to godaddy’s govalue prices? Do buyers use govalue as a bargaining chip if lower than your asking price?
I never waste my time looking into any automated appraisal tools/websites. All are rubbish IMO.
When I was handling leads myself using Uni landers, there were buyers showing me valuation of such tools, but I made them educate about the value of domain. In any case, I always was sticking to my asking price or close to that… No matter if the buyer keeps lowballing or presenting automated appraisal values.
But yes, some buyers do use this trick and it might be working for them with some sellers…
These are some phenomenal sales. It really drives home the point that if you want to get max value for your domains, that patience is the key.
Absolutely! Very well said.
Congrats Abdul bhai. You are someone we can constantly learn from. I sincerely thank you for sharing your sales in detail. Just one question- What was the average waiting period of your sold names, mentioned in this post?
Thank you Ashish bhai ๐
It’s really very difficult to calculate (for getting exact time frame) for all the sales as an average but as far as I’ve understood, it’s around 5 years.
Thanks bhai ๐
Congratulations on your sales sir, Thanks for share and I wish you will get more sales in this July month.
Thank you Harmandeep bhai ๐
How many domains in total you have?
Just crossed 3,950. Hopeful to hit the 4K mark before the end of this month.
Thanks for the info and congratulations.
What’s the avarage acquisition cost of those names if I may ask?
Thanks Lalan.
As mentioned in the post, “Overall the cost of those domains were under $5,000 and total sale amount was $76,540.”
You can easily calculate with that.
Great job , congratulations
Thank you Najeb!
Glad you like it ๐

Yeah, Aamir bhai sales are always inspiring and he sells right in the sweet spot of low-high 4 figures and keeps rolling. He owns some great domains.

Thanks!
That’s what keeps me sharing.
Best ROI
Yeah, especially for AutoFun.
As always, kudos AbdulBasit for another spectacular month of sales, and many thanks for sharing. Your monthly sales reports are a must-read.
For your amazing sale of AutoFun.com are you able to recall the Minimum Offer amount that was displayed alongside the $50k BIN? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for your kind words. Much appreciated ๐
I can still see in SOLD section at Afternic and the minimum I setup was $19,888.
Congratulations,great results.
Always really admired your honest, open approach when blogging on your domain names.
One question i have, what nameservers do you use when listing names for BIN at Afternic.
Seems no matter what i try, names keep going to the lander with ” Get a price in less than 24 hours
Fill out the form below. One of our domain experts will have a price to you within 24 business hours” rather than show BIN price.
Glad you like it Josephine, thank you! ๐
I’m using ns3.afternic.com/ns4.afternic.com
Yes, that’s what their landers will show. Also they don’t show BIN price on these landers.
Hey, congratz on a monstrous month! I’m relatively new with just 300 domains, was just curious if you have any idea why I am getting NO inquiries whatsoever? Taking your ration in account i should be getting at least 40-50 a month, I’ve read your entire website and I believe my domains are of similar quality, should yield at least some inquiries.. Though I dont have any ๐ (coms – CoolestVR, LifeVaccines, HempDeal, Aristida, Datep, Buard and so on), following your example they all point to ns3/ns4 afternic and listed at Uni, Sedo and Afternic, though I’m getting no interest.… Read more »
Thank you for your feedback and sharing your experience ๐ For your clarification, you don’t receive any inquiries directly as all the leads are handled by the Afternic brokers once you point the domain landers to ns3/ns4 nameservers. If you are talking about the inquiry report, that only Afternic rep can provide you (if you’ve one). I doubt you’ll be assigned one due to the lack of number of domains. If the domains you shared are some of your best one’s, then I’ve to say those are definitely not of the similar quality I’ve. Just check some of my domains… Read more »
Thanks! Your reply is truly appreciated. Those are great name on that page (not hundreds, I only see like 30, but still). I was talking about past sales during this experiment: sillis, connectfit, lemonsoul, allsan, cygnini, marketgrid, liplove, summiter, etc. – it seems like these are okayish, but not the greatest quality names, yet they still sell well. I compared my names to these, I know they are not like the highest tier, but.. comparable? (sillis – folmy, connectfit – dochotline, lemonsoul – greenylab, cygnini – cenefa, allsan – allarizona, marketgrid – beyondregular, summiter – sevengill, liplove – hempkeen). Thank… Read more »
I’m sorry for typing mistake. I mean to say was this: Just check some of my domains here โ https://www.abdulbasit.com/domain-investments and Iโve at least a few hundreds of similar qualities in my portfolio. For the okayish domains you’re talking, for that you need to add great number of domains in your portfolio to keep things moving. In May, there were 9 consecutive days where I’d NO sale via Afternic. In June, there were 11 consecutive days where I’d NO sale via Afternic. You can see with almost 4,000 domains, still one can have many days without a single sale through a platform… Read more »
Congrats Abdul. I love the sale of AutoFun.com because of the sold price. Also love the sale of PDFKit.com from your fellow domain investor because of the year registered & sold price. To end with, I love all your experiment and wish you more luck in the months ahead.
Thank you very much for your feedback and I’m pleased to see you like it ๐
Best wishes!
Loved the series. Very informative and inspiring at the same time. Fingers crossed I just moved about 700 domains last night to Afternic landers, previously on either Dan or Epik landers.
Glad you like it Steve and thanks for sharing about your new changes. Hope you’ll see better results and feel free to share about your new experience in the near future.
Best wishes! ๐
A couple questions I have for you: Do you have most of your domains at Godaddy or another registrar(s)? I noticed domains I have at Godaddy show pricing in the Godaddy Auction with BIN or make offer. While names listed on Afternic at other registers, only show make offer under Godaddy Auction listings. One thing I really like about your series was the names you sold: Most would be considered Brandable. I have around 700 names on BrandBucket and SquadHelp. 660 on BB and 61 on SH. My STR on BB around 1% while my SH is a big fat… Read more »
Most of my domains are registered with Uniregistry. I try to bring in all at Uni after the 60 days lock period is over. I simply move to Uni and all my domains are added via Afternic which can be found at GoDaddy search results as well as Afternic. I just checked and cannot find my domains at GoDaddy Auctions but I don’t think that makes much difference because the endusers search through GoDaddy, Afternic and their partner registrars instead of going through GD Auctions. So I don’t care much about it. Yes, I focus mostly on 1-2 word brandable… Read more »
Congrats Abdul. Constant sales are definitely a cause of satisfaction, especially when they come together with decent cash flow. I’ve got a question about “requests”. Do you mean “Price requests” (sent by pricerequest@a…)? From my experience these mails are sent only if there is no BuyNow price set. Does it mean that you don’t list significant part of portfolio at BuyNow pricing? Or do you receive a separate report of requests from a rep, also for BuyNow priced domains for which standard price request is not sent? I’ve been constantly testing BIN and non-BIN strategy. Although BIN pricing can help… Read more »
Thank you Adam for your feedback and some nice questions. I don’t usually get price requests because 99% of my domains are set to BIN. What I usually get from Afternic brokers or my rep is the offer which is close to BIN for checking if I’ve a change of mind and willing to accept the buyer offer. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t mainly depending on the domain, potential, cash flow, what’s the BIN set, etc. I strongly suggest to keep all your domains at BIN because keeping if left empty (without BIN) will give you almost no… Read more »
Thanks Abdul!
Abdul, So I have been on the Afternic landers a week now. I have all names with BIN’s. But I am a bit apprehensive that they don’t provide traffic data. I called to see if they provide because when I drop the unique visitors or page view on my dashboard it all shows zero. The rep told me for the ns3/4 landers there is no traffic data. I will definitely give it time but it sure would be nice to be able to see your traffic or at least be able to enter a Google Analytic tag to monitor your… Read more »
Hi Steve, Thanks for your feedback. I totally agree that Afternic should provide traffic data so one can analyze the volume of incoming traffic. This will give clear picture for the domain owners to understand about their domains and this one metric is really helpful in deciding whether to keep the domain or drop it. I’ve added floor and minimum price to all my domains. And I keep same BIN, floor and minimum for almost all of my domains which are set in low-mid 4 figures range. For high 4 figures and above, I keep the minimum price with some… Read more »
Congrats Abdulbasit, you’re rare.

Wish higher sales in the present month.
