Hello everyone,
Although I’ve been using Afternic landers for more than a year but at the same time I keep adding the domains with Sedo as well from a long time. The sales are not so frequent but every sale matters as we understand.
Last Saturday 20th March, I received an email about the sale of HaloStudios.com for $2,988 BIN via Sedo. The best part in this transaction was that even though it was weekend, the transfer specialist Iris Siedlatzek did some extraordinary work and assisted in completing the transfer the same day and even the credit note was issued the same day. Now today (Monday) I’ve received the funds in my PayPal.
I wanted to thank Sedo and especially the transfer specialist Iris Siedlatzek who has been very swift and professional in handling this and other transactions.

My great domainer abdul bhai… How are you??? Why you stopped sharing yours sales and acquisition??? I have been waiting… Great sale at sedo… Missing your blogs
Thanks for your feedback Wajid bhai.
I may share it more in the near future…
Congratulations on the sale.
My last sale, a small one, on Sedo was also processed amazingly fast – just 13 hr from initial offer and transfer complete and funds in my PayPal.
While I know many use Afternic mainly, I am glad that we have several (Sedo, Afternic, DAN) strong general purpose marketplaces as well as many brandable marketplace options.
Best wishes for continued success.
Bob
Thank you Bob for sharing your experience and I’m glad to know this is happening quite often now as I’ve heard similar experience from other investor as well about Sedo.
Best wishes! 🙂
Didn’t Sedo use to allow Paypal only for sub-1000 payments? Haven’t used them in a while.
As far as I know, the minimum payout for Sedo via PayPal is €20.
Listing domains at Sedo is a pain. Sometimes it works fine and othertimes they can’t see domains plainly parked using Sedo nameservers and are stuck in limbo for 10 days until they are cancelled. So frustrating…
Agree
So true! And they never listen at levels where it would matter. They disregard feedback even when it would benefit them.
I believe they should improve their system to auto verify the domain ownership which is a bit lacking even when the WHOIS is public.
Anyways, the best and easiest way to verify domains for myself is to send them snapshot and they’ll add the domains into my account very quickly all the time. But most of the time the domains do get added automatically since the WHOIS is mostly public for my domains.
I’ve started taking screenshots before even submitting to Sedo because I know that NS isn’t enough. Public WHOIS, NS set to Sedo parking…
It doesn’t make sense. I don’t think they care at the higher levels but they have some great people.
None of my recent submissions have been accepted even with NS set to Sedo parking. I’m getting tired of jumping through Sedo hoops.
I want to work with them. I don’t get the impression that Sedo cares.
I haven’t heard that NS does any difference to the auto approval of domain listings. Public WHOIS should do most of the time and if not, then only snapshots are necessary to send. I keep my domains with Uniregistry and most of the time Sedo is able to detect the WHOIS and add domains into my account. But yeah, sometimes even with WHOIS is public, the domain doesn’t get add and I receive an auto email to verify the domain ownership which is frustrating. I still see it’s worth adding domains to Sedo as it gives me some additional sales… Read more »
Hello AbdulBasit! Yes, I am now having a real problem with Sedo to verify my newly acquired domains. They no longer accept my Sedo nameservers despite my snapshots from Domain Tools Whois but only their fast Self Verification method as recommended, which I now use. But their acceptance is still very slow and even deleted some of my new domains from my account after only few days! Anyway, I now sell all my domains at Afternic and Dan as well as Sedo. Good to know about your HaloStudios.com sale as I still have HaloEdge.com for sale (see https://redflex.com/articles/redflex-announces-the-launch-of-halo-edge-the-latest-clean-air-and-low-emission-zone-camera-solution/).
Hi,
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I don’t think Sedo verifies the domain by only setting up their nameservers. Also you need to send them snapshot of domains from your registrar account and not from DomainTools.
I suggest you do the above and your domains will be verified and added to your account quickly and smoothly.
I believe your best bet is to change the nameserver of the domains to Sedo nameserver before going ahead to list those domains with them. I have found that this approach works for me without having to send screenshots of the domain names except for cases where the domain is listed by another person on Sedo. They verify ownership of the domains almost instantly.
Thanks for your suggestion which is appreciated. However, almost all of my domains are automatically verified by their system since my WHOIS is public so I rarely face any verification process issues.
I can understand and have been gone through that process.
The best and easiest way to verify domains for myself is to send them snapshot and they’ll add the domains into my account very quickly all the time.
Please, continue with your experience with Afternic report. I love reading them.
Thanks for your feedback 🙂
Is it cheaper to go thru via escrow or thru via DAN or Afternic?
For example, the domain was sold for 10K USD, how much are the fees for escrow compare using DAN or other services. What the net profit for the sale?
I’ve never used DAN to pay any escrow fee. It’s better to check out DAN’s FAQ and use Escrow.com fee calculator to compare it.
How are you, my friend? I have been waiting for your update. It’s a long since your last update. Even mentioned you on Twitter. Nice to read through and congrats on the sale.
I’m doing good but just taking a small break from domaining… Thanks for asking. I hardly check Twitter as the post is auto published there. I’ll see the updates now.
Thank you for your time and commenting 🙂
Congratulations Abdulbhai. Yes, I have had similar experience with Sedo wherein sale to payout competed within 24 hours which was something I didn’t expect out of Sedo.
Though sales are few and far between there, but every sale matters.
Best wishes again!
Thank you Nikhil bhai!
I totally agree with you.
Great sale, How you grab it and how much time you hold and ROI

Nice SIR
Congrats. According to Abdul Basit ” The sales are not so frequent but every sale matters as we understand”.
Thank you Tauseef bhai 🙂
Thanks Abdul. I have been experimenting with Sedo on all of my generic names since the Middle of Feb and had one sale so far.
I wish my current experience with Sedo was going as well..
I was notified of a sale and sent auth codes a week ago.
Still waiting for ANY response from Sedo…
This has happened with me in the past at Sedo. But in such cases, I believe the buyers are lazy to start the transfer process at their end after requesting for the auth codes.
Yeah, realize that. My issue was more with the lack of a reply to me from Sedo.
I don’t know if it a coincidence or not – but the domain has since been transferred and credit note created.
thanks.
Glad it ended well for you. Sometimes it can happen and not every time I’ve had such a fantastic experience with Sedo but I wanted to share what companies do good to their clients.
That’s nice!
I’m not sure if you’re using Sedo’s lander but if that’s the case, I strongly suggest to try Afternic landers as well for better comparison.
I am using Sedo Landers on my generic names and the rest are on Afternic Landers.
You may want to try 100% of your domains with both platforms separately to have a better understanding which is working best for you.
Congratulations Abdul Basit bahi, nice sale!!!. Last month one of my Domains was sold via afternic for 599 USD. My first ever sale!!
Domain name: strobal.com
Thank you Anjum bhai and congrats to you as well! I’m sure this special feeling and your first ever sale will always be a memorable. Keep going and best wishes!
Congratulations on the sale and the transfer specialist at Sedo.
I hope to turn my luck with Godaddy auctions and buy now with Uniregistry.com and other domains in my portfolio.
Thank you Jose!
I don’t think selling your domains through GD Auctions is a good idea as you’ll mostly find investors looking out for good deals and not endusers.
Congratulations on your wonderful sale and thanks for sharing your experience.
Thank you Vinod bhai 🙂
Hello Abdul, how are you and your family keeping?
Congratulations on the sale of your sedo domain, and the assistant to help initiate the sale.
I hope you are all well.
Matt Morgan
Hi Matt!
Always nice to see you taking time and commenting on this blog.
Thank you!
We all are doing good and living a great life here in Malaysia. It’s lovely to live in this part of the world 🙂
Congrats on the Sale! I agree, Sedo is super quick somtimes, a bit depending on both the Seller and the Buyer.
Thank you Mattias and also thanks for sharing your experience 🙂

Glad you like it He 🙂
