Improved Customer Support from Bodis.com

Improved-Customer-Support-from-Bodis.comHello and Assalamo Alaikum,

In past I used to park my domains at Bodis but wasn’t quite satisfied with their support due to delay in response and mostly no replies. As of now, I have parked 1-2 names so it doesn’t matter much about their customer support but since many of you guys have been actively parking your domains with Bodis, this news will be good for you. Below is the email I received from Bodis team:

“Hello AbdulBasit,

From now on, we expect to handle and respond to all customer support inquiries at the absolute earliest convenience. We are committed to providing an exceptional customer support experience to you and other Bodis users.

You may email support@bodis.com in order to use our improved support system. Your inquiry will be assigned to the appropriate Bodis staff member with a ticket ID ensuring an accurate and timely response. In the near future, our support ticket system will be further integrated tightly with your Bodis account.

Five Figure Domain Sale and Parking Revenue for July 2014

Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

Back from six figure sale to a five figure sale for which I can’t reveal much info other than the sale amount which was $20,000 and it was .com. Once again it was brokered through Jessica Ebanks of DomainNameSales and the sale was completed through Escrow.com. Always pleasure working with DNS team specially Jessica and it was swiftly done with Escrow.com which is the best escrow service.

Coming back to parking revenue of July for which I am publishing the stats a bit late but this is the area which I must focus to achieve one of my another goal for this year. Previous month wasn’t impressive although I didn’t add that many domains to my portfolio. Below is some of the parking stats which might be helpful to you in some way. This time I have added top 5 niches and CTR which was suggested by one of my friend Mohammed Zaki.

Total visitors – 117,000+

Total clicks – 5,000+

Total parked domains – 700

Total revenue – $550

Top 5 niche which made the most – Games, Health, VPN, News, Music

$$ made on a single day – $30

RPM – $5.2

CTR – 5.62%

To add something on above stats, there is one domain which is banned by Google and that received 26,000+ visitors with zero clicks and it was all paid per visitor and I have added those visitors in the above stats and excluded RPM and CTR from that. Also found that clicks have gone up compare to June 2014.

Added few domains in the last month month but instead of improvement, I saw significant decline but I will take that since having a good sale this month. There could be one reason of revenue drop due to summer where possibly advertisers might be keeping their budget tight. Many people are on vacations. I am hopeful to have some improvement this month and if not, I will have to make some changes in categories/sub-categories of domains which receive decent traffic to see if anything gets better…

Have you seen any drop in the parking revenue for the last month? Made any sale recently which you would like to share with us?

My Recent Domain Acquisitions

Some-recent-domain-acquisitions-by-AbdulBasit.comHello and Assalamo Alaikum,

My sincere wishes to every Muslim reader of my blog all over the world a very happy EID Mubarak. Hopefully everyone is enjoying and having loads of fun.

I feel really good sharing my experience no matter it’s good or bad. I receive emails where people ask me what type of names I buy and what are the strategies behind those acquisitions.

I simply buy all type of names which I feel comfortable at selling in future. Normally I avoid buying adult/alcohol/gambling related domains. Other than that I hunt for every name I think can pay off well some day.

So let’s start with some of my recent acquisitions I made in the last couple of months or so.

Steps.net – Oh well a .net! I liked this name. I don’t buy too many .net domains but this wasn’t there to be left off. I paid couple of hundred Dollars less than I won finally this domain. Long story short,  I actually lost the auction but the winning bidder failed to make payment and all his bids were removed and as I was the second bidder, got the domain for $200 less than the first bidder won.

Liaison.net -Another .net domain! That’s enough for today’s list and I have to control myself on buying more .net domains 😉
.com is developed and I see great potential in this name.

GrowthHormones.com – I found this domain from Mark’s domain picks and thanks once again to Mark for sharing this decent name.

CaProperty.com – At first look I thought of Canada/Canadian/California Property, although “CA” can be the initials of many companies dealing in property business.

TheBreastCancer.com – I am fond of “THE” word domains and this can easily be used for breast cancer awareness, fundraiser, research foundation, etc. I think I have now over 10 domains starts with “THE”.

TAEQ.com – Another LLLL.com addition to my portfolio. Looks like an Arabic word to me.

AusCom.com – Can be used for an Australian communication company may be? I see there are many companies out there with Auscom and can be an upgrade for any one of them who pays the most 😉

DanielMorgan.com – Slow in terms of selling for a decent profit but I am starting to like two word common names. Have to be very selective in buying it.

RoseCottage.com – Another upgrade name for many companies.

EyeSeeYou.com – Brandable domain which can be pay off well on some golden day. Not sure when that is going to come…

LasikSpecialist.com – Do I need to explain this one? 😉

Care to share your recent domain acquisitions? Also if you wish to comment and share your feedback about my domain purchases?

DropCatch.com Auction Announcement – Another way of making extra money!

DropCatch.com Auction Announcement - Another way of making extra money!Hello and Assalamo Alaikum,

I received an email from DropCatch.com for which I had a bad experience in past. They have also posted detail about the announcement on their blog as well which I have stated below:

“An internal process which alerts customers of caught and missed domains failed for Monday’s drop (7/14).  The domains have been … doing nothing … in a holding account in our system, but were marked as missed. So we were curious and performed an internal audit back to our launch date — we found a few other stragglers which were incorrectly marked as missed and again … doing nothing.

Since we already claimed that we missed these domains we are going to try to make the best of this situation:

If there was only a single backorder on a domain which we incorrectly identified as “missed”, we will be pushing that domain to the customer who backordered the domain free of charge. Enjoy!

If there were multiple backorders for a domain which we incorrectly identified as “missed”, we will be starting auctions for these domains today. Customers who backordered these domains will not be obligated to participate. There is a minimum bid of $60 for these domains. If there are no bids for one of these domains when the auction closes, we will offer it to an affiliate.

The following domains will be listed in auction using the above special conditions:

  • 58589.com
  • DomainKnack.com
  • EcoRoc.com
  • IsraelTalk.com
  • Mjyy.com
  • Norway-Mori.com
  • Rghj.com
  • Ysae.com

Non-Payments

The winners of these domains did not pay us for them. That’s too bad. The good news is that you’ve got another shot at them! The following domains will be re-auctioned under our normal auction rules:

  • 9555555.com
  • Artro.com
  • CraigslistAdTracker.com
  • Dinuo.com
  • Fallout3.net
  • HerMex.com
  • Hjkl.com
  • Hot-Live-Chat.com
  • Vokoo.com
  • YumiWu.com
  • Zdjk.com
  • Ziqing.com”

I remember making a comment on their blog in the past which was never approved. However, I posted another comment which went into moderation and not sure if that will be accepted but let me post below which surely they can’t sensor it 😉

“I think I was the second highest bidder for one of your non-payment auction so the domain should be awarded to me. Instead of that you have started public auction for that particular name and made an announcement as well to all participants as well as on your blog to get more and more participants. You are simply pumping those auctions to get maximum money out of it!

This is not fair at all and you guys are a bunch of shameless people who are just after money. No ethics and rules are being followed. Ethically you should have given the domain to the second highest bidder minus the first bidder’s bids.”

Last week I lost a domain at GoDaddy which was sold to the highest bidder at $9xx but couple of days later I received an email that “you had the second highest bid of $7xx and now this domain auction has been moved to the “Won” section of your GoDaddy Auctions account. You must complete the purchase of the xxxxxxxxxx.net within 24 hours of this notification or the domain may be offered to others for purchase.
If you are still interested in registering this domain name, please log in to your account and complete purchase for the domain.”

I was happy to win that domain specially when I saw that around $200 was waived off because all the bids highest bidder were removed and I got a great deal.

Similarly, in this case as well, DropCatch.com must have followed this rule and run their business ethically. It seems they are chasing money no matter what happens.

Yes, I still place backorders with them but to be honest I just don’t feel good to see when they catch it because the auction gets open up for everyone.

So far, they haven’t approved my comment on their blog but I have notified them about this post. Be brave to approve legit comments and have some courage to respond back.
