My first domain sale was not a .COM!

To start from scratch I would like to share my first domain sale with you. It was August 2009 when I sold Argentina (DOT) .cc for US$740. I actually bought the domain at reg fee in December 2008. Not a big number though but still a motivational sale for a newbie domainer that particular period of time. As stated in my earlier posts I was focusing mostly on .cc domains so definitely chances were more bright for selling a .cc domain as compare to a very few .com domains I owned.

As everyone knows the excitement of selling your first domain name who have sold at least one domain name.

In my next post I will share my first five figure sale which was a more exciting to me as compare to my first domain sale because of the high profit I got through that sale.

Feel free to share your first domain sale along with the purchase price and selling price.

My hosting company since I started online business

Since I developed my first website I purchased hosting account with Lypha.com and have been with them for 8 years. There were many ups and down. Several times the server got down and had conflict with my scripts. Overall I would recommend every small businesses or start up who is willing to buy shared hosting package than Lypha.com is the best option to start off.

I have faced few major issues with them but one thing I really like about them is their top level support staff who is always willing to help you out of trouble and fix the problems. I even hosted one website with them whose traffic was once over 10,000 unique visitors daily with Alexa Traffic Rank of just 23k. It was huge and got few downtime but they increased the traffic limit, bandwidth, etc. So my website remain live without any trouble and many users that time using my forum asked the hosting company and I let them knew the hosting package was shared which was really shocking to most of them.

*Note* This is not paid post and I am writing this to let everyone know about one nice hosting company.

Would you like to share where do you host your website(s)? What package do you have and how much traffic load the server handle it?

Best place to backorder .com/.net domain names

Most of my purchases are through backorders and private acquisitions. There were 3 best places to backorder domain including Pool.com, Snapnames.com and Namejet.com and in my experience Snapnames was the best among them. Normally I placed backorder at all these places for any domain I dearly wanted and most of the time it was caught by Snapnames. When the Hank Alvarez saga happened I stopped using Snapnames and my focus shifted only on Namejet for backordering domain names.

Today there is more competition and few new companies have come up with backordering service. Couple of them which I am aware are IntrustDomains and BackorderZone.com. I have read several negative feedback on forums and blog against them. Just type “intrust domains scam” in Google to see what I actually mean. Although I have never used either backordering site because none of them are enough competitive as Snapnames and Namejet.

In the past Pool.com was good but these days I don’t think it comes in my top backordering sites list. To conclude this post I would suggest you to backorder your favorite domains at two places; Snapnames and Namejet.

What are your views and suggestions about these companies? What are your successful rates with each of them? Bad or good just feel free to comment and let everyone know about them more clearly.

Use Domain Name Analyzer Professional for bulk WHOIS, domain generator and much more

I strongly recommend using Domain Name Analyzer Professional to those who are looking for bulk WHOIS check, Domain Name Generators (keyword based, character template based, etc.), DNS Check, Attach custom notes, Database Storage (Huge Domain Lists). You can sort the domains by alphabetical order, status, registry expiry, registrar expiry and even last modified date. It supports Internationalized Domains (IDN) too.

I have been using Domain Name Analyzer Professional since 2006 almost daily! I have over 25,000 domains added in software which helps me to track them without checking their WHOIS on daily basis. Before I was actively buying .cc and .im domains for which I made separate files for them.

In case you need some of their other product depending on your requirement so they offer an upgrade to any of their product by just paying the difference in price.

Below is one tip I normally use when I add new tld in domain name analyzer professional.

Tip: Go to Edit/Top Level Domain List, select any tld like .com and click settings. Than WHOIS server settings and under Allowed simultaneous connections type 99999. And for Minimum Interval between two connections select 0. This will let you check WHOIS in the quickest way without waiting for long time. (I am using DNA Pro v4 so things might look a little different in v6).

By default the settings are different so you will need to change for every tld but make sure to read in detail about them because .org allows 4 connections per minute so there is no use to increase connections for this tld. But for .com, .net, .cc, .im, .co you can use the tip I gave you.

Have you tried this software or would like to share any tips/suggestions. Good or bad I would like to hear from you guys.
